British Airways do jumpsuits

Ready for Take Off?

The flight suit is taking off. For 2023 our iconic British Airways revealed their new uniforms. Created by fashion designer, Ozwald Boatang, OBE - he’s London born, British-Ghanaian and that’s great!

Now can there really still be an issue with going to the loo in a jumpsuit?

Surely a new flight uniform is an endorsement? The loos on planes don’t give much room for nifty maneuvering that’s for certain. Let’s hope the uniforms are well made, fit for stretching over cabin seats, and squat-down-able to get the gins out of the trolley. We hope they did their research thoroughly. Did they get the zip in the right place and the length right so the crew don’t struggle?*

I’ve been flying in my Mozzie Cozzie jumpsuit for a while now and because our recycled YKK zip is 22 inches (that’s 56 cm) long so we don’t have any challenges getting in or out of it. No fiddly buttons. Our flight ‘pull cord’ (our zi!p) is at the front not the back - eazzzy and it is sooo soft and comfy (100% TENCEL™ branded fibers by Lenzing AG).

Vegan silk.

Plenty of leg room too for when it gets a little chilly and they’ve run out of blankets (or you forgot your pashmina that you read in our ‘how to pack light’ travel blog).

And when you arrive at your destination - you’re all set. Zoom meeting, beach, biting mozzies on your ankles whilst you are trying to get to the front of that car hire desk? No more! Check here to see what we travel with….

Not only that, in flight Mozzie Cozzie mask doubles as an eye mask, or eye and mouth mask all at once if they start spraying insecticide in the plane - you don’t get much warning for that so keep it in the Mozzie Cozzie’s deep side pocket ready to whip out. It won’t fall out either on the flight, we’ve tested that!

We also keep our flight / security stuff in our TENCEL™ travel bag so it’s easy to look gracefully organised at X-ray as well as on the plane when you need to pop to the loo with all the right stuff for your quick refresh.

Here’s me wearing it on take off - snug as a bug in a comfy TENCEL™ hug, even the crew liked what I was wearing. They said I looked like I was a well seasoned member of their Flying Club and offered me an upgrade!

Mozzie Cozzie on, Feet up, cosy and warm in vegan silk.

We hope that BA flight attendants get to love their travel jumpsuit as much as we love ours! And travelling in our Mozzie Cozzie, even in First Class has savings for BA too (no need for the complimentary cotton Temperly pyjamas here!)

We were so delighted to read about it all that we wrote to Ozwald Boateng to say how much we like the idea of his new crew design - especially as like us he’s elected to use recycled materials.  We also wrote to our friends at Make it British - all of us are wondering if the uniforms could be made in the UK one day….

We are made in England 100% - Mozzie Cozzie’s got the first class seat on that one ;)

So, Bing Bong - we are now poised for take off and taking orders for your next in-flight suit…

Mozzie Cozzie do jumpsuits that fly too!

*since writing this article it seems Boatang faced a backlash because his tailored jumpsuit is too tight for BA staff to go about their duties in! Our’s isn’t - BA cabin crew tell us they want Mozzie Cozzies instead - come on Oswald, press that call button and reply back to us…!
