We didn’t get all bothered with end of season sales this year - that faff of offloading oversupplied stock (just one reason why we’ll produce our sizes made-to-order).
We’ve had fun batting back answers to your questions instead. In particular, you’ve asked us what it’s like making a British product right now. So here’s a peek behind the scenes…
Our social enterprise manufacturing teams produced the first sample ever to be made in a petite size ready for fit testing before Christmas. We’re planning 4 sizes: one bigger, one smaller to fit both regular and petite body shapes. To kick off 2023, we have produced together a male/unisex sample, now also in testing.
Our educational enterprise teams got together across 4 faculties (Law, Business, Tech and Marketing) for a first time project to start on our website with online shop for you to pre-order your Mozzie Cozzie this season! We have also collaborated with an animation student from UAL (thanks, Tiffany) and signed up for KCL’s WEN and join an enterprise panel at Leeds Business & IP Centre next month.
Our textile supplier teams checked and proofed our new black Lenzing certified TENCEL(TM) labels - (image below) and are now working on the size pips (or tiny labels that go alongside the brand one). Our labels are all 100% woven recycled polyester and made in UK.
Our intrepid research teams returned from successful field tests in the lightweight fabric in both Europe (yes there are still mosquitoes in later seasons!), South and Central America (where the world’s largest thunderstorms rage and mosquitoes can really thrive) and in the deserts of The Middle East. Whilst putting ourselves out there with the biters from dawn til dusk, we’ve spent our time in-between listening to what our customers want in our focus groups. For example including in our neat travel kit bag, a face mask that can double up as an in-flight eye mask made without Velcro that can pull your hair out!
Mozzie Cozzie is not just any Label comfortably protecting you from biting insects. As a UK brand and collective enterprise, we work collaboratively across all sorts of teams to help one another build products that feel good for you, our customers.
Between us all, we know a lot and so we can operate cooperatively and critically to move with intent and change our paths.
So, we are in good stead and in the swing of it, just like any good travel companion.
